Traveled with my wife to Madeira. To be frank, I had little expectation, especially since we consider ourselves advanced hikers with a long list of travel destinations behind us. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by Madeira and the service from the team! The whole island is an endless network of trails, and honestly, they should rename it to “Hikera.” Limitless slopes at every level, plus a serious amount of other activities — from surfing to downhill cycling and enduro motorcycling. 

I tried downhill cycling for the first time, and it was amazing, with just the right amount of adrenaline and a friendly, attentive guide who helps you through it. The accommodations were also very nice, with an excellent view! Overall, we’re very happy and are already planning to come back to “Hikera” next year. Cheers!

I’ll say it straight up: I went almost blind—I honestly knew almost nothing about Madeira before the trip. In the end, it was my best vacation in years. Maybe the best vacation of my life, period. Almost every day I headed out on a new hike—each one a fresh kind of interesting, nothing like the last. Honestly, I saw all this beauty thanks to NES; they know the island absurdly well. I didn’t come to exploit them, but every outing turned into a mini tour.

I’ve been to Madeira more than once, but this trip with NES Experience will stay in my memory the most.
Maybe it’s because I finally had the chance to slow down, reconnect with myself, and walk through familiar places in a completely different state of mind and body.
Over these seven days, I reflected on many parts of my life — and the experiences we shared as a group each day, whether canyoning, hiking up mountains, or catching waves, helped me see everything from a new perspective.
